The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is set to start in December 2021. The league was initially scheduled to start last year but was postponed due to the pandemic in India. In the meantime, the auctions took place in Mumbai this month and the starting date was announced as December 2021.
A franchise can spend up to INR 4.4 crores on players to construct their team. In addition, they can retain up to six players under Elite Player Retention. Some of the most expensive players in PKL season eight are Pardeep Narwal, Pawan Sehrawat, and Fazel Atrachali.
In August 2022, the Pro Kabaddi League will start for its ninth season. It will feature matches between U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls. There will be twelve teams in the tournament. The auction will take place over three days. On August 29, 2022, the player pool will contain more than 450 players, including international and local kabaddi pros.
The season will last 13 weeks and have the same format as the previous one. During the Pro Kabaddi League’s player auction, 442 players will be available to the participating teams. The rules of this year’s auction will be similar to those of Season 7, and teams will be able to bid for players if they lack four Elite personnel.
The PKL season 8 player auction will be held in Mumbai, on August 29th and 30th. There will be a total salary purse of INR 4.4 crore for the franchises. The maximum bid placed on a player’s name determines his or her salary. Similarly, the number of players a franchise retains will decrease the salary purse.
The PKL auction will be live telecast on Star Sports Network in five different languages. You can also watch the auction on PKL’s official website. The auction will begin at 6:30 pm on Sunday, August 29. It will also be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar and Star Sports Network.
As you can see, there are a number of talented young players available for auction. These players have been training hard and improving their skills, so it will be interesting to see how they fare in the auctions. Anup Kumar, a former India captain, has been a coach for the team Puneri Paltan.
