During the past 35 years, Auction of Washington Wines (AWW) has raised $4 million for a variety of charities. Its philanthropic events support research and education in Washington’s viticulture and enology industries, as well as Seattle Children’s Hospital and Uncompensated Care at Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. The organization’s events include a winemaker picnic and barrel auction. Guests can taste 100+ local wines at four tasting bars while bidding on barrels for future releases. This year, AWW’s barrel auction is back, offering a unique opportunity for wine lovers to bid on barrels that were auctioned off in a battle between wineries and restaurants. The organization is also a partner with Vital Wines, an industry grant partner that helps to promote healthcare access for vineyard workers. This year, AWW’s fundraising reached a record $4.3 million for the Washington State University Wine Program. The AWW team leverages the skills of industry veterans and seasoned leaders. They are able to bring a high level of attention to the organization’s work. The organization’s Board of Directors is comprised of business, community and wine industry veterans. AWW also recognizes industry luminaries and emerging leaders. AWW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing awareness of Washington’s wine industry. Its events are designed to promote Washington’s world-class winemaking regions. The organization’s annual winemaker picnic and barrel auction, which is held at Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, Wash., raises money for Washington State University’s Viticulture and Enology Research.
