Lincoln Financial Field, otherwise known as “The Linc,” is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is the home field of the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. The stadium is also home to the football team of Temple University. You can watch a Philadelphia Eagles game at Lincoln Financial Field or see a Temple Owls game.
The stadium features an open-air, 1.7 million-square-foot design with 68,532 seats, 10,828 club seats, and 172 suites. The stadium’s seating arrangement is designed to give fans the best views of the field. The exterior wall mimics the history of red brick Philadelphia, while the superstructure soars 250 feet above grade. It also has concourses that allow fans to watch the game from the comfort of their seats. The facility also won the 2005 General Building Contractors Association’s “Best Commercial Project” award.
The main team’s merchandise store is located in the north end zone “Head House” area, and several smaller kiosks are located throughout the stadium. The north end zone also features a branch of Lincoln Financial, which looks like Honest Abe. The main team’s logo is also prominently displayed in the lobby.
In 2003, Lincoln Financial Field hosted its first ticketed event, a soccer game between Manchester United and FC Barcelona. Philadelphia Eagles played the New England Patriots in its first pre-season game, and the team lost 24-12. The stadium also hosted a game between Villanova and Temple in September 2003. In the double-overtime game, Villanova won 23-20.
